Despite the weather and awful ground conditions, thanks to the support of a number of hardy volunteers, Llangors Community Centre, the Homely Learning school, Grwp Cymreig Llangors and others a Tiny Forest of 650 trees was planted in a day on Wednesday at the Tegfan site.

This dense forest was planted following the “Miyawaki” method which should lead to much faster than normal growth and environmental benefits.  Tegfan will be available for community groups to use once fencing and access has been completed.  

The Coetir Bach/Tiny Forest project is funded by the Welsh Government via the Heritage Lottery Fund and advised by Earthwatch.

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 8TH 2024

Today was the last day that Richard Matthews worked in the Post Office in Llangors Community Centre. He has been coming to Llangors twice a week for the past 6 years even throughout the Covid pandemic when most businesses were closed or severely curtailed. He is leaving to take up a job in Cardiff. We wish him well in  his new job.

The Post Office has a new person taking over by the name of Kayleigh Jones. She has accompanied Richarch to the Post Office for the past 2 weeks and seems a very pleasant and capable person.

A great turnout at the Community Centre Thursday coffee morning to celebrate the ever-youthful Josie’s 99th birthday. Suitably yummy cakes provided by Ordrith and Anne. Many thanks to all.

Castle Pub v Red Lion Llangors.

The winners this year were The Castle Pub Team.

The photograph shows some of the team with the Cup. In the photo are Ollie Greenow,  Sam Eagle,  Izaak Duffy and Adam Willmott. It was great to see so many people come along to enjoy this annual ritual in Llangors, especially those returning home for a New Year visit.
