A Milestone Double Celebration in Llangors

The kettle has been working overtime at our Thursday Coffee Mornings recently as we gathered to celebrate two truly remarkable birthdays!

Josie Griffiths: In January, we raised a cup to Josie Griffiths, who celebrated becoming 101 years youngJosie has long been an inspiration to our community and it was a joy to mark this incredible milestone with her.

Doreen Tranter: The celebrations continued into February as Doreen Tranter reached her 100th birthday. Doreen is a familiar face to many, having regularly attended our weekly gatherings for years.

Both ladies remain active members of village life, frequently joining us for our weekly coffee mornings and the monthly Luncheon Club

A highlight of the festivities was a heartwarming visit from the children of Llangors Church in Wales Primary School. The pupils performed a selection of special songs for Doreen—a fitting tribute to a lady who spent many years volunteering at the school to hear children read, until the pandemic paused her visits.

We wish both Josie and Doreen many more years of health and happiness. We look forward to many more Thursdays spent in their wonderful company!
